Are you an employer in Île-de-France and looking for a way to simplify the management of Navigo pass reimbursements for your employees using the Paris metro for their home-to-work journeys?
Today, more than 40% of employees in theÎle-de-France region use the RATP public transport network (metro, bus, tramway, RER, etc.) for their home-to-work journeys, and companies that reimburse employees ask for proof of payment for the Navigo pass (Navigo machine receipt or annual Navigo collection sheet). There is a huge need for HR teams to simplify the management of Navigo pass reimbursement.
Employers are obliged to cover at least 50% of the cost of transport to and from work. Employees in the private sector who use public transport to go to work are obliged to have part of their costs reimbursed, including half the cost of an RATP season ticket for those travelling in the Paris region.
All employees in the Île-de-France region using the RATP transport network are concerned, including part-time workers and trainees.
These are public transport services such as the Paris metro, bus, tramway, RER, etc.
Only season tickets, such as the Navigo pass, are covered by the employer as part of the 50% reimbursement of transport costs. Cards can be annual, monthly or weekly. Single tickets are not refundable.
The Navigo pass is reimbursed at a minimum rate of 50%. Reimbursement by the employer is made on a monthly basis (including for annual season tickets) at the latest at the end of the month following the purchase of the ticket. In order to be reimbursed, the employee must present a Navigo receipt every month.
The amount of the Navigo pass paid must be mentioned on the payslip.
Partial refunds of the price of season tickets are exempt from income tax.
Until now, the 50% of transport costs were only covered by the Navigo pass, but the Worklife card also allows companies to finance sustainable means of transport: bicycles, electric scooters, carpooling and electric scooters. The card is valid for all sustainable mobility operators in the Paris region and is no longer limited to the RATP network.
In line with the new teleworking practices, Worklife now offers the only card that also allows the payment of single tickets. The company can now finance only the days of presence in the office and no longer an annual subscription. This is a source of savings for the company, but also makes the employee responsible for his or her choice of transport.
Employees link their personal payment method to their Worklife card. This way, instead of paying the full monthly fee and then getting reimbursed, they now pay with their Worklife card and the employer/employee split is automatic and instantaneous. The card is linked to a mobile application that allows all transactions to be tracked.
With the Worklife card, transactions can be tracked and their validity checked against the company's mobility policy instantly. The card automatically makes the breakdown of sustainable mobility/monthly/annual subscription reimbursement to the RATP, which greatly simplifies the management of human resources professionals. Worklife guarantees the use of sustainable mobility by employees and provides the company with a single monthly certificate for all employees.
